We travelled to Edinburgh to see the RSA 200th Annual Exhibition and to choose a winner for our ‘PAI 150th Award’. This is a special award, marking the 150th anniversary since the Paisley Art Institute was formed and celebrates our shared history with the RSA is it coincides with their 200th anniversary. Our winner was ‘Happily For Now’, a wonderfully crafted and inventive use of linocut by Canadian based artist Brianna Tosswill.

All members who submitted to our 137th annual open exhibition please note the times of hand back. Please come prepared with wrapping where necessary.
Tuesday 26th May 11am -7pm and Wednesday 27th May 11am-7pm
Thanks to all who helped us create such a successful event. We experienced growing footfall and increased sales once more. Visitors came from all over UK. Groups have made it an annual excursion and enjoyed the Club's hospitality.
The listed building and historic collections of both GAC and PAI have added to the enjoyment for many delighted groups on tour. So many have appreciated and mentioned the quality and the range of our artworks.
'Remember in September,' - watch for dates to apply to become a member.
3 pieces of work and CV are required to be handed in to the Glasgow Art Club for selection.

What an opening we had!
People were queuing along Bath Street! They had travelled from Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Dunoon, the Borders, Ayrshire, Canada and Copenhagen. Culture Groups are phoning to book an all day visit inclusive of a set lunch. The exhibition still has 2 weeks left and art sales are going really well!

A free painting demonstration by PAI Artist Member Linda Clark will be held at the Glasgow Art Club on Thursday 14th May from 11.00-13.00.
It's a great opportunity to meet the artist and discover the many different approaches to their art.

A painting demo by Artist Paul Kennedy will be held at the Glasgow Art Club on Wednesday 6th May from 11.00-13.00.
Paul will facilitate a painting demo showing how he tackles painting seascapes. He will take the audience through his step by step process of how he creates his painting with certain brush marks and techniques and give some of the tips he's learned along the way showing the materials he uses and what works for him.

It's just under a week to go until our 150th Anniversary Year Exhibition opens at the prestigious Glasgow Art Club. The judges have been busy (see pic below) reviewing over 600 art works from all over the UK and have made their decisions. The exhibition is opening in stages - on Thursday 23rd we have our Corporate and Buyers preview, then on Friday 24th the exhibition opens to our Members and Open entrants with the Prizes and Awards ceremony. This year we welcome the many artists from around the UK who entered works via the Olist. Then on Saturday 25th the event is finally open to the public from 10.00.
You will not be disappointed - this year's exhibition if full of exceptional artwork, all of which are available to purchase at the exhibition. Just ask a committee member for help. This year the exhibition co-incides with the Blythswood Festival so be sure to include a visit to the Art Club. We look forward to seeing you there.
The countdown is on to the 137th Annual PAI Exhibition. The exhibition opens to the public on Saturday 25th April from 10.00 at the Glasgow Art Club at 185 Bath Street.
This year there will be over 600 art works to view, not just from local artists, but from all over the UK.
